1965 22’ Gage Hacker Utility 22’ $21,900
Not too long before his death in 1961 at the age of 84, legendary naval architect John L. Hacker designed and tested a 22’ and 26’ runabout for the Gage family at Gage Marine on Lake Geneva . Wisconsin. Called the Gage- Hacker, Gage Maine built about 35 boats from 1961 to 1969. I believe these to be the last true Hacker designs ever built. In 2007 Gage partnered with Van Dam Custom Boats to build the “new” Gage-Hacker in 26’ and 31’ lengths.
With just 35 boats built, the Gage-Hacker is very rare by definition! I know of several available well into six figures! Far and away the best priced Gage-Hacker offered today, she is a great opportunity for both the collector or a family just looking for a great Classic user boat with a remarkable pedigree.
